An Exhibition and Cultural Event coordinated by WILTA in conjunction with Kelompok SEPI Yogyakarta

Friday 22 September - Tuesday 24 October

...to foster understandings about Indonesia and in particular, highlight the positive things that are happening between our two countries, such as the contribution of the Australian Medical Assistance Team (AMAT) during the recent earthquake in Yogyakarta and collaborations between educational institutions and other organisations.

Rebuild is an exciting month long event including the exhibition of visual works of Indonesian artists from Kelompok SEPI, a Yogyakarta-based artists group, and photography by Muhammad Bundhowi, depicting various images of life in Yogyakarta before and after the May 27 earthquake. The event offers a refreshing insight into the lives of Indonesians, and focuses on Australians and Indonesians interacting as good neighbours.

A variety of activities such as free language classes, Culture Cafe sessions and an Open Forum with an Indonesian focus will take place over the month.

A selection of the paintings and postcards can be bought throughout the month with proceeds going to education assistance programs for children living in poverty in Indonesia.
