WILTA Term 1 Workshop: Creating & Translating

​The WILTA Committee is very exciting to announce the details of our 'Creating and Translating' Workshop organised by our new PD Coordinator, Ibu Marlee.

Date: Saturday March 11 (Week 6)
Cost: $30 for members (incl lunch)
$66.00 for non members (includes 2017 membership)
Venue: SIDE (Schools of Isolated Learning), Leederville, Building F

​The purpose of the 'Creating and Translating' Workshop is threefold, to:
1. Become more familiar with this terminology and how it relates to the WA Curriculum
2. Answer questions about KK2 2017 (our competition centred around creation and translation)
3. Give practical ideas about how to include creating and translating in the Indonesian classroom

The program for the day is as follows:
8:30 Registration and Networking
9:00 Creating and Translating in the Indonesian: Second Language curriculum, presented by Adriana Douglas
10:30 Morning tea: Jajanan, provided by Warung Batik
11:00 KK2: 2017 Q&A with Jeremy Snyder
11:30 Split session:
A: Using storytelling to teach Indonesian presented by Natalie Pearce (aimed at PS teachers)
B: Sports videos and superstars: making the most of the Mikki J concert, presented by Laura Wimsett (aimed at HS teachers)
12:30 Lunch: Nasi Kotak, provided by Warung Batik

We are aware that this is also election day. There is a polling booth nearby at the TAFE in Leederville, or you can make other arrangements.
