Another fantastic workshop thanks to our hardworking committee. We received a lot positive feedback, and overall enjoyed the friendly atmosphere while getting stuck into the work of teaching. Thank you to all the presenters. Kepada Rekan-rekan yang baik, The next workshop is a full day workshop. Date: Wednesday 9th May, 2018 Place: Trinity on Hampden (UWA Residential College). There are limited free parking options (first in, best parked) on Hampden Rd and in the Staff car park on Stirling Hwy, otherwise you will need to find paid parking around UWA (see attached maps). The 8am start should ensure we get in before the students! Otherwise, UWA has ample public transport. Cost Members: $30.00. WILTA has subsidised the costs for members. Non-Members: $66.00 (including WILTA membership until March 31st, 2019) About: See schedule below. It is split into two separate sessions for Year 3-4 teachers and Year 11-12 teachers, coming together for morning tea and lunch. Cost: $30 for members (incl lunch) $66.00 for non members (includes 2017 membership) Venue: SIDE (Schools of Isolated Learning), Leederville, Building F The purpose of the 'Creating and Translating' Workshop is threefold, to: 1. Become more familiar with this terminology and how it relates to the WA Curriculum 2. Answer questions about KK2 2017 (our competition centred around creation and translation) 3. Give practical ideas about how to include creating and translating in the Indonesian classroom The program for the day is as follows: 8:30 Registration and Networking 9:00 Creating and Translating in the Indonesian: Second Language curriculum, presented by Adriana Douglas 10:30 Morning tea: Jajanan, provided by Warung Batik 11:00 KK2: 2017 Q&A with Jeremy Snyder 11:30 Split session: A: Using storytelling to teach Indonesian presented by Natalie Pearce (aimed at PS teachers) B: Sports videos and superstars: making the most of the Mikki J concert, presented by Laura Wimsett (aimed at HS teachers) 12:30 Lunch: Nasi Kotak, provided by Warung Batik We are aware that this is also election day. There is a polling booth nearby at the TAFE in Leederville, or you can make other arrangements. |
